Agartala, November 9:
Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday chaired an important organisational meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the party headquarters in Agartala, focusing on bolstering the party’s grassroots network and gearing up for the forthcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) and local body elections.
The meeting was attended by BJP state president and Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharya, general secretary Amit Rakshit, former MP Rebati Tripura, along with party vice presidents and leaders from various Morchas. Senior leaders reviewed the organisational progress across districts and discussed strategies to ensure stronger coordination at booth and mandal levels.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Dr. Saha said that the discussions revolved around internal organisational matters and election preparedness. “Today, we held a meeting with our party leaders to discuss ways to further strengthen the organisation. With the local body and TTAADC elections nearing, our main focus is to consolidate the BJP’s presence at the grassroots,” the Chief Minister stated.
He clarified that the meeting did not involve any discussions on alliances or seat-sharing arrangements. “No talks were held on alliance strategies. The sole agenda was to enhance organisational strength and readiness for the upcoming electoral challenges,” Dr. Saha emphasized.
Currently, the TTAADC is governed by the Tipra Motha Party, which is an ally of the BJP in the state assembly. However, the BJP leadership aims to expand its independent organisational capacity in tribal and rural areas ahead of the crucial polls, signaling the party’s intent to reinforce its base across all sections of Tripura’s electorate.
