Agartala: Jan 20: 12 out of 10,323 dismissed teachers appeared in court in connection with the previous case. It is known that on January 27, 2021, they joined the intense movement after the police broke up their fifty-two-day mass sit-in stage in front of the capital’s city center. Then the fired teachers took to the streets and joined the protest. A case was registered at the West Police Station for blocking the road and destroying government property.
In view of that case, 12 dismissed teachers have to appear in court on Friday. After coming out of the court, lawyer Bhaskar Debbarma said that 12 teachers who lost their jobs were brought to the court with a false case for destroying police property and blocking the road. It is not acceptable for the police to be involved in such false cases wearing uniforms and falling on the Ashok pillar. Lawyer Bhaskar Debbarma said to be careful not to file such false cases. He also said that if the police are not restrained then a case will be filed against them. He informed that the police will be in jail that day.
The minister urged the police not to act in a spineless manner and asked them to work with restraint according to the law. Otherwise, the police will face legal problems, he said. Meanwhile, fired teacher Dalia Das said that many fired teachers were injured by police with water cannons and baton charges that day. And he claimed that the case was false and said that on that day they were in agitation with pens and bags. No government property was destroyed. In the last few years this government has exercised dictatorial rule over 10,323. He alleged that as the promise did not keep, on the other hand, brutal torture was brought down. He also said that the sacked teachers claimed that the government will not be re-established in the upcoming assembly elections. The case included dismissed teachers Kamal Dev, Vijay Krishna Saha and others.
