Agartala: Jan 14: Voting is a democratic festival. Rangoli festival was organized on Saturday with emphasis on peaceful completion of this democratic festival and maintaining communal harmony. The state level Rangli festival was organized in front of Rabindra Centenary Building on the initiative of the office of the State Chief Electoral Officer. On the occasion of Paush Sankranti, Chief Secretary JK Sinha, Chief Electoral Officer Kiran Gitte, Returning Officer of Assembly Constituency No. 7 and 8 and other officials were present in this Rangoli festival.
State Chief Electoral Officer Kiran Gitte said that the National Election Commission has started Mission Zero Poll Violence in Tripura. The commission has taken such initiatives to introduce the practice of peaceful and fair elections in this state. Various programs have been undertaken as part of it. One of these is the Rangoli festival. Rangoli-style contests were held on peaceful elections, communal harmony, and accessible elections in 10 lakh households in the state. This morning, about one and a half lakh houses have been painted with such colors. This number will stand at three and a half lakh till afternoon. Any message that comes out of the house falls on the members of that house. So take such initiatives. The Chief Electoral Officer congratulated the people of the state on the occasion of Makar Sankranti. He hoped that a proper message would be sent through this festival before the elections. The China Commission is responsible for any untoward incidents surrounding the election.
The commission will take strict action against such untoward incidents. The people of the state will not take any action that sends a wrong message to the entire country. The Chief Electoral Officer wants the name of Tripura to shine as a state of healthy culture, development of tourism industry, peace. If the name of Tripura reaches the list of threats, it will ultimately be harmful for the state. He urged everyone to pay attention to prevent such incidents from happening for the future of Tripura. The Election Commission is responsible for conducting peaceful elections. The Election Commission will do whatever measures are necessary for that. Adequate security arrangements are being made. Chief Electoral Officer Kiran Gitte said that the main goal of the commission is to bring the incidents of political terrorism to zero in the state.
