Agartala, April 22: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday inaugurated six newly constructed two-storied school buildings across West Tripura district, reaffirming the government’s commitment to providing quality education and strengthening educational infrastructure as a top priority.
Built at a total cost of ₹27.38 crore, the newly inaugurated buildings are part of a state-wide initiative to enhance the academic environment and learning facilities in government-run schools.
The inaugural ceremony was held at Amtali Higher Secondary School in the presence of Deputy Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly and local MLA, Ramprashad Paul. From the venue, Dr. Saha virtually inaugurated the other five institutions.
Highlighting the state’s growing reputation as an emerging education hub, Dr. Saha, who also holds the Education portfolio, said Tripura is witnessing increased investments, including in the education sector, thanks to its improved law and order situation.
He added that a significant number of colleges, universities, and technical and medical institutions have been established in recent years, propelling the state toward a new phase of development.
“The state government has placed a high priority on education. Through various schemes, digital literacy projects, modern infrastructure development, and student-focused programmes, we are working to ensure quality education for all,” said Dr. Saha.
He also noted that the government’s focus is not just on infrastructure, but on shaping a brighter future for the youth by improving access to opportunities and nurturing talent across the state.
