Agartala: April 19: In a step towards reinforcing the administrative workforce in Tripura, Finance Minister Pranajit Singh Roy on Saturday distributed appointment letters to 11 newly recruited individuals at a ceremony held at the PN Complex in Gorkhabasti. The new appointees will serve in crucial roles within the Finance Department, including positions related to small savings, group insurance, and institutional finance inspection.
While addressing the gathering, Minister Singh Roy reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to filling vacancies across various departments. Acknowledging public concerns over delays in the recruitment process, he assured that the government is conducting recruitment in a transparent and rule-bound manner, ensuring that no one suffers due to administrative lapses. “We are committed to providing employment while maintaining complete fairness,” the minister emphasized.
In a significant update, he also stated that no chit funds are currently operating in the state. Properties belonging to illegal chit fund operators who defrauded people have been seized and sold. The revenue generated has been deposited into the state government’s fund, and steps are being taken to compensate the victims of these fraudulent schemes.
Highlighting the success of the state’s financial programs, the minister shared that for the 2024–25 fiscal year, the target for the small savings scheme was ₹1,024 crore, while the actual collection surpassed the target, reaching ₹1,075 crore. He credited the efforts of 1,119 SAS agents and 2,247 MPKBY agents across the state for achieving this feat.
The event was also graced by Finance Department Secretary Apurba Roy and other senior officials. The ceremony marked a moment of encouragement for the newly appointed employees and reinforced the government’s focus on strengthening the state’s financial framework and ensuring public trust.
