Agartala: Jan 09: This year, the Youth Congress of the North East region will be holding its conference in Tripura. The event is scheduled for January 16th at the Agartala Town Hall, marking a significant moment for the state. The conference will focus on the organizational issues of the North East region. Key figures including Uday Bhanu Chib, the President of the All India Youth Congress, Jisan Ahmed, the Assistant In-Charge of the All India Youth Congress, and other prominent leaders will be present as special guests.
On Thursday, the Pradesh Youth Congress President Nilkamal Saha announced the schedule for the event during a press conference at the Pradesh Congress Bhavan. He emphasized that the Youth Congress has always fought for issues concerning the welfare of the people, particularly focusing on employment for the youth. He also criticized the current BJP-led government for increasing the drug trade in the state after coming to power. Saha claimed that the government has failed to take action against this growing menace, and instead, they seem to be enabling its spread further.
Saha also raised an issue regarding the venue for the conference. He revealed that the Youth Congress had initially secured the Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan for the event, but was denied access at the last minute due to a government event being scheduled there. He alleged that this was a deliberate attempt to prevent the Youth Congress from raising any voice of dissent against the government.
He further mentioned that unemployment is a major issue for the youth of Tripura, with many young people waiting on the streets after taking exams but without receiving any job offers. All of them are invited to attend the upcoming conference to discuss these critical issues.
In the press conference, Assistant In-Charge Nishan Ahmed also highlighted that the conference would discuss why the Prime Minister has not addressed the unrest in Manipur and the increasing unemployment in Tripura, along with issues like drug trafficking and smuggling.
