Agartala: Dec 12: Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury recently visited the battleship structure located on Jampui Hill in North Tripura district, accompanied by officials from the Tourism Department. The visit aimed to assess the potential for enhancing the area’s appeal as a tourist destination.
After inspecting the battleship structure, Minister Chowdhury highlighted the significance of the location, noting that the ‘Eden Tourist Lodge,’ situated on Jampui Hill, attracts numerous visitors every day. He shared that discussions were held with Tourism Secretary Uttam Kumar Chakma and the Kanchanpur Sub-Divisional Magistrate regarding plans to modernize and improve the facilities at the lodge, making it more comfortable and appealing for tourists from across the country. The Minister emphasized that instructions had already been given for the rapid implementation of these improvements.
Minister Chowdhury also mentioned the scenic beauty visible from the battleship structure, pointing out that visitors could clearly view various locations, including the neighboring state of Mizoram. Acknowledging the battleship as a significant tourist attraction, he stated that efforts would be made to further enhance its appeal and ensure it remains a sought-after destination.
The Minister examined various possibilities for developing the battleship site, noting that further steps would be taken in collaboration with department officials. He assured that necessary actions would be taken in the near future to improve the infrastructure and overall experience for tourists, making the location even more attractive for both local and national visitors.
Chowdhury’s visit reflects the government’s commitment to boosting tourism in the region and ensuring that Tripura’s natural beauty and historical sites become more accessible and appealing to tourists.
