Agartala: Dec 10: Rejoicing the historo day, as the December 10 is a significant day for Tibetans as it marks the commemoration of the Nobel Peace Prize Day for the 14th Dalai Lama a special celebration was joined by hundreds at Tawang monastery.
This day is observed to honor the 14th Dalai Lama, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989 for his non-violent struggle for the liberation of Tibet, he has been idolised as Living Buddha by his followers across the globe.
Chief guest of the occasion, Zilla Parishad Chairman Leki Gompu and guest of honour Jambey Wangdi chairman of Department of Karmik & Adhyatmik Affairs stressed to follow the teachings of the Dalai Lama.
The mass gathering of public and monks offered prayers for the longevity and well-being of the spiritual leader. Meanwhile, a volley folk cultural dances were performed.
The Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile observes this day as a momentous occasion to express gratitude to the Dalai Lama for his tireless efforts in promoting peace, love, and non-violence across the world despite living in exile.
On this day, Tibetans as well as millions of his followers around the world come together to celebrate the Dalai Lama’s achievement and reaffirm their commitment to non-violent means in their struggle for freedom.
