Agartala, November 30: In a commendable initiative to mark its 60th Raising Day on December 1, the Border Security Force (BSF) Tripura Frontier has launched a state-wide blood donation drive aiming to collect over 1,000 units of blood.
The initiative involves troops, officials, and family members from across the state.
Along with other BSF battalion headquarters and campuses a special blood donation camp was organized on Saturday at the BSF Tripura Frontier headquarters in Salbagan.
Chief Secretary JK Sinha attended the event as the chief guest, joined by Inspector General (IG) Patel Piyush Purusottam Das, who welcomed dignitaries and presented saplings as mementos.
Sinha inaugurated the camp by lighting the ceremonial lamp, emphasizing the BSF’s commitment to both national security and social responsibility.
Officers, jawans, and their families actively participated in the event, reflecting the BSF’s ethos of community engagement.
Speaking on the occasion, participants highlighted the BSF’s dual role as the nation’s first line of defense and a crucial contributor to social causes.
“Blood donation is just one of the many ways BSF supports the local population, demonstrating its commitment as a first responder in times of crisis,” said a voluntary donor.
The BSF’s blood donation initiative not only underscores its dedication to the welfare of the community but also sets a benchmark for integrating social service with national duty.
The collected blood will be a significant contribution to local healthcare facilities, benefiting patients across the region.
This initiative reflects the BSF’s resolve to extend its services beyond border security, strengthening its bond with the people of Tripura and reaffirming its role as a protector and caretaker of the nation.
BSF is the largest border guarding force in the world.
