Agartala: Nov 26: ADG (Eastern Command) Ravi Gandhi arrived in Tripura for a three-day visit to assess the security situation and border management. Upon his arrival, he was welcomed at the BSF Tripura Frontier Headquarters by IG S Patel Piyush Purushottam Das. During this meeting, they discussed the current security landscape, focusing on the challenges faced in maintaining law and order along the border and the administrative aspects of border management.
On the same day, ADG Gandhi attended a conference organized by the Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI) at the Sabrum land port. He was the guest of honor at the event, where he was joined by prominent officials such as IPS Chairman Aditya Mishra, Shailendra Kumar Sinha, IG Piyush Purushottam Das, and others. At the conference, Gandhi appreciated the efforts of the LPAI in establishing and developing the Sabrum land port, highlighting its significance for enhancing border trade and connectivity in the region.
Gandhi also addressed the various challenges faced by the eastern region, including security concerns, smuggling, and illegal cross-border activities. His visit underscored the importance of strengthening border security and improving coordination between various agencies.
Later in the day, ADG Ravi Gandhi visited the eastern border of Tripura, particularly the Sabrum sector, where he interacted with BSF jawans deployed in the difficult terrain. He praised their tireless and continuous efforts in safeguarding the border, acknowledging the challenges they face in such a challenging environment. Gandhi’s visit to the border highlighted the crucial role of the BSF in maintaining security and stability along the sensitive eastern border of the country.
