Agartala: Sept 26: Today, the AIDS Foundation honored the 205th birth anniversary of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, a prominent figure in India’s Renaissance, by offering flowers to his portrait at Battala.
A member of the organization highlighted Vidyasagar’s contributions, stating, “Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar was a distinguished Bengali scholar, social reformer, and prose writer of the nineteenth century. He was awarded the title ‘Vidyasagar’ in 1839 from the Sanskrit College for his profound knowledge of Sanskrit language and literature. Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar introduced modern education to India. Today, his 205th birth anniversary is being celebrated across the country. Like every year, the AIDS Foundation is also celebrating the 205th birth anniversary of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar this year.”
The organization also encouraged people to share Vidyasagar’s life story with the younger generation, emphasizing the importance of his contributions to modern education and social reforms in India.
