Agartala, March 26: The 7th State Level Monitoring Committee (SLMC) meeting to review the progress of the Pradhan Mantri Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi was held in Tripura on Thursday under the chairmanship of Dr. Milind Ramteke, Secretary of the Urban Development Department (UDD).
The meeting was initiated by Member Convenor of SLMC, Tarit Kanti Chakma, who is also the Mission Director of PMSVANidhi under the Tripura Urban Livelihood Mission. The review session was conducted in a hybrid mode, allowing participation both offline and online.
The meeting witnessed the presence of key stakeholders, including the District Magistrate and Collector of West Tripura, along with representatives from the State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC), Rural Development Department, Finance Department, Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Small Industries Development Bank of India, Agartala Municipal Corporation, various banks, and officials from the PMSVANidhi team in Tripura.
Additionally, District Magistrates and Collectors from seven districts, Chief Executive Officers and Executive Officers of Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), Block Development Officers (BDOs), and Lead District Managers (LDMs) joined the meeting virtually.
During the review, Dr. Milind Ramteke provided key insights and guidance aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of the scheme’s implementation across the state. He emphasized the need for proactive measures, improved coordination among departments, and adoption of best practices to ensure wider outreach.
The meeting underscored the importance of the PMSVANidhi scheme in providing financial support and boosting livelihood opportunities for street vendors, reaffirming the state’s commitment to strengthening urban livelihoods and inclusive growth.
