Agartala: Feb 16: In a major blow to narcotics trafficking, the *Assam Rifles* in a joint operation with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) successfully seized a massive consignment of Yaba tablets at Gen A. Mungiakami.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, security forces intercepted a TATA truck bearing registration number *AS-01T-C7674, leading to the recovery of approximately **4,50,000 Yaba tablets* with an estimated market value of *₹45 crore*.
During the operation, one individual identified as *Mr. Hafijul Hoque (42)*, a resident of Udalguri, Assam, was apprehended in connection with the seizure.
The recovered contraband, along with the apprehended individual, has been handed over to the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence for further investigation and necessary legal proceedings.
This successful operation highlights the continued commitment of the Assam Rifles in coordination with DRI to combat drug trafficking and safeguard the region from the growing menace of narcotics.
