Director General of Police (DGP) Tripura, Anurag, on Friday said that the state government has placed high priority on strengthening police infrastructure and improving healthcare facilities across the state. He assured that modern vehicles for police stations and upgraded medical equipment for hospitals attached to police establishments will be provided in the coming months.
Speaking after reviewing various police establishments, the DGP said ensuring adequate mobility for the police force is one of the key focus areas this year. He informed that the government has liberally sanctioned funds to equip all police stations with modern vehicles to improve response time and operational efficiency.
“Within the next few months, every police station will receive at least one new vehicle. Some vehicles have already been procured, while orders for additional vehicles are in the process of being placed. The entire process is expected to be completed by March, April or May,” Anurag said.
During his visit, the DGP reviewed the police lines and inspected the amenities available for personnel. He also visited the hospital attached to the police establishment and assessed its existing facilities, infrastructure and additional requirements.
“I have reviewed the hospital facilities and identified areas where further improvement is required. I have assured that necessary arrangements will be made to upgrade the infrastructure and medical equipment so that patients can receive better and more effective treatment,” the DGP said.
Anurag emphasised that the hospital does not cater exclusively to police personnel but also serves civilians from nearby areas. He said this makes the upgradation of medical facilities all the more important.
“Civil personnel also come here for treatment. Therefore, improving healthcare facilities is essential not only for police personnel but also for the general public,” he added.
The DGP reiterated that strengthening infrastructure and healthcare support systems would boost morale among police personnel and enhance the overall quality of public service delivery in Tripura.
