Agartala, December 4:
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the two-day Tripura NCC Fest 2025 at the Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT) campus on Thursday, hailing the event as a celebration of the core values of the National Cadet Corps (NCC)—discipline, unity, and national service.
Addressing a gathering of cadets, officials, and dignitaries, Dr. Saha stated that the festival is “not just a festival” but a reflection of the principles that shape responsible citizens.
“Seeing such a large number of bright young faces in khaki uniforms reassures me that the future of Tripura is in safe and capable hands,” he remarked.
Reflecting on the NCC’s legacy since its inception in 1948, the Chief Minister highlighted its growth in Tripura and its status as the world’s largest uniformed youth organisation.
He noted that the NCC Fest signifies an evolution from strictly regimental drills to a broader platform that celebrates youth potential and national service.
“It serves as a vibrant platform to showcase the potential of Tripura’s cadets, bridging the gap between uniformed service and civil society. It allows the public to witness how their youths are being groomed,” Dr. Saha said.
He also emphasized the practical utility of NCC training for a disaster-prone state like Tripura, enhancing preparedness and response capabilities.
The inaugural event featured a colourful cultural programme celebrating India’s unity in diversity and a special drone show. Notably, the drones used were developed by TIT students, symbolising growing self-reliance and indigenous innovation, including in military equipment.
Themed ‘Experience the Spirit of Youth and Culture’, the inaguration of the fest was attended by a large contingent of NCC cadets, along with senior civil, police, and military officials, including Special Secretary to Higher Education Raval Hemandra Kumar, Deputy Director General of the NCC Directorate (North-East Region) Brigadier KJ Singh, Group Commander of NCC Group Brigadier Anand Raj Singh and others.
The event aims to unite cadets from across the state in a display of patriotism and cultural diversity.
