Agartala, November 24:Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday led the Sardar@150 Unity March in Agartala, marking the year-long celebrations of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the ‘Iron Man of India’.
CM Saha with Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy and several dignitaries flagged off the rally and joined the event, which highlighted national integration and the spirit of self-reliance.
Speaking at the march, Dr. Saha stressed that Patel’s vision of a unified nation must be reflected in today’s efforts to build an economically independent India.
He urged citizens to promote the “Vocal for Local” movement by prioritizing locally made products, linking it to the goal of Atmanirbhar Bharat and strengthening state-level initiatives for Atmanirbhar Tripura.
He said that choosing local goods not only supports indigenous industries and artisans but also empowers youth and entrepreneurs, which is vital for long-term economic growth.
The Unity March witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, sportspersons from across the nation, and community groups, who carried messages of national unity, integrity, and economic self-reliance, paying tribute to Patel’s role in building a united India.
