**Agartala, Oct 30:** In a move to strengthen tourism infrastructure and promote Tripura’s rich cultural heritage, the state government has announced the organization of the **‘Unity Promo Fest 2025’**, a flagship cultural and tourism event to be held in **Bilonia, South Tripura district**, for the first time.
Tourism Minister **Sushanta Chowdhury** said that the initiative aims to attract visitors, enhance local engagement, and showcase Tripura’s vibrant traditions. Building on the success of earlier events like the *Tripura Tourism Promo Fest*, the new festival seeks to expand outreach across the state while promoting inclusivity and regional unity.
A high-level preparatory meeting was held on Thursday at the Bilonia Dak Bungalow to finalize arrangements for the two-day event. The meeting was chaired by Minister Chowdhury and attended by **Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati**, **MLA Pramod Reang**, **MLA Sapna Majumder**, the **Secretary and Director of Tourism**, the **District Magistrate**, and senior officials from multiple departments.
The discussions focused on ensuring effective inter-departmental coordination, improving infrastructure, and involving local communities in planning and participation. Special emphasis was laid on logistics, cultural programming, and showcasing Bilonia’s potential as a tourism destination.
Speaking at the meeting, Minister Chowdhury highlighted that the Unity Promo Fest goes beyond being a tourism initiative—it symbolizes Tripura’s collective spirit, cultural diversity, and social harmony. “The fest will not only promote tourism but also bring people from different communities together under one platform to celebrate Tripura’s unity in diversity,” he said.
The event is expected to feature cultural performances, exhibitions, and promotional activities designed to attract both domestic and international tourists, reinforcing Tripura’s growing reputation as an emerging destination in India’s Northeast.
