In a major step toward women’s empowerment and rural prosperity, **Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha** launched the **Samriddhi Abhiyan** under the **Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM)**, aimed at strengthening financial independence among rural women and transforming the Self-Help Group (SHG) movement into a model of inclusive growth.
The initiative aligns with **Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of creating ‘Lakhpati Didis’** — women who achieve sustainable livelihoods and economic self-reliance. Under TRLM, more than **4.86 lakh rural women** in Tripura are organized through **54,170 SHGs, 2,479 Village Organizations, and 174 Cluster-Level Federations (CLFs)** — a remarkable example of collective women-led development.
Over the years, the SHG–bank linkage programme has emerged as a vital instrument of empowerment, helping women access affordable credit and start small-scale enterprises in agriculture, animal husbandry, and handicrafts. Since 2018, SHG members have received loans worth **Rs. 1,773 crore** with a **98% repayment rate**, reflecting the financial discipline and determination of Tripura’s rural women.
Under the Samriddhi Abhiyan, launched on **August 1, 2025**, the state targeted Rs. 110 crore in loan disbursements but exceeded expectations, achieving **Rs. 198 crore in sanctions** within a month. Continuing this momentum, during the **state-level Samriddhi event at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan**, an additional **Rs. 100 crore** was distributed as **Community Investment Fund** among Cluster-Level Federations to further expand women’s entrepreneurship and income-generating activities.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Saha emphasized that the campaign will boost rural credit flow, strengthen financial inclusion, and inspire more women to become successful entrepreneurs — true embodiments of the *‘Lakhpati Didi’* dream. **Secretary of Rural Development Abhishek Singh** and **CEO of TRLM** were also present at the event.
