Agartala, Oct 6 — A **massive fire** broke out in the **Joynagar Chakra Sangha area** of the capital city on Monday, completely **destroying an old residential house** and causing significant property damage. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far.
The gutted property belonged to **Gobinda Pal**, a resident of Kolkata, and was being **occupied by tenants** at the time of the incident. According to eyewitness accounts, the blaze was first noticed when residents nearby felt an intense surge of heat and heard **loud crackling sounds** coming from the house. Panic spread quickly as flames engulfed the structure, prompting locals to alert the **Fire and Emergency Services**.
Three **fire tenders** rushed to the spot and battled the flames for nearly **an hour** before successfully bringing the situation under control. However, by that time, the entire structure had been **reduced to ashes**. Firefighters confirmed that **nothing could be salvaged**, with the inferno destroying not just the house but also **a car and a scooter** parked nearby.
“We did everything possible to control the blaze,” said one firefighter at the scene. “But the flames spread too quickly, and the structure could not be saved.”
