Agartala, Sep 22: Minister for Animal Resource Development Department (ARDD), Sudhangshu Das, on Monday participated in a high-level virtual meeting at the Secretariat Conference Hall, alongside Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh), Minister of State S.P. Singh Baghel, and senior ARDD officials.
The meeting focused on charting strategic initiatives to accelerate the growth of India’s Animal Resources sector. During the deliberations, Minister Das highlighted the urgent need for infrastructure development, improved productivity, and robust support mechanisms for farmers and livestock owners.
He stressed that modernizing veterinary and dairy facilities, adopting innovative practices in animal husbandry, and ensuring timely delivery of resources would significantly enhance the livelihoods of farmers. “Strengthening the sector is vital not just for economic growth but also for food security and rural development,” Das said.
The discussions underscored the pivotal role of the livestock sector in driving inclusive growth. Minister Das called for closer collaboration between the Centre and states to unlock its full potential, advocating for increased financial support, training programs, and technology-driven solutions for livestock management.
The presence of Union Ministers and senior officials lent weight to the session, reflecting a shared national commitment to transform the Animal Resources sector. Officials agreed that coordinated efforts are required to improve breeding practices, disease control, dairy productivity, and marketing support for farmers.
The meeting concluded with a consensus to strengthen inter-governmental coordination and explore innovative avenues to empower livestock farmers. Policy reforms, financial assistance, and capacity-building initiatives were identified as key drivers for sustainable sectoral growth.
Minister Das reaffirmed Tripura’s dedication to aligning with national priorities, ensuring that livestock farmers across the state benefit from enhanced opportunities and improved infrastructure.
