Agartala, Sept 21:
Former Chief Minister and incumbent Lok Sabha MP from West Tripura, Biplab Kumar Deb, on Saturday called upon party workers to engage in periodic self-introspection to refine their political understanding and strengthen their bond with the people.
Speaking at a public programme, Deb said, “Before considering the words of others, every political worker should look within and reflect on their own journey. One must think about how challenges were addressed and how complex issues were resolved to ensure people’s trust in the party remains intact. This practice helps bring out a better version of oneself.”
Deb acknowledged that there may be shortcomings in implementing entrusted responsibilities but emphasized that no political party harbors malicious intent. “Our workers have clean hearts. Not every political worker can be as sharp as the Prime Minister, but their sincerity makes them the real force multipliers of his vision. Their intention is always to serve the people,” he asserted.
Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Deb highlighted his respect for the cultural and spiritual sentiments of Tripura. Referring to the sacred Maa Tripura Sundari temple, Deb said, “People of all religions and castes believe in Maa Tripura Sundari. This temple is a symbol of devotion for everyone born on this soil. But did you ever see any chief minister from the Communist party visiting the shrine? In contrast, our Prime Minister values the faith of Tripura’s people.”
He pointed out that while Modi usually attends events involving the inauguration of projects worth thousands of crores, he chose to personally visit Tripura for the inauguration of a project worth just Rs 52 crore. “For him, the emotions of the people matter as much as development,” Deb concluded.
