Agartala, Sep 12: The 8th Triennial Conference of the Tripura Fair Price Shop Management Association (Sadar AMC Committee) was inaugurated on Thursday at Sukanta Academy, Agartala, by Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister, Sushanta Chowdhury. The event witnessed the participation of cooperative members and stakeholders dedicated to strengthening the state’s fair price distribution network.
In his inaugural address, Minister Chowdhury underlined the significance of such platforms for cooperative organizations. “These conferences are crucial as they allow members to come together and address both their economic and social needs,” he said. Noting that this was his third meeting with the dealers, he reiterated his commitment to continued engagement with them.
The Minister invited a representative delegation of five to six members to submit a detailed memorandum of their demands at the Secretariat. He assured that every point raised would be carefully reviewed in the presence of departmental officials to explore practical solutions.
The conference also saw the election of a new committee, which will serve until March 2026. Chowdhury stressed that the continuation of the body would depend on its performance and evaluation. He urged the newly elected members to work with transparency, unity, and a sense of public service.
Discussions during the session revolved around the association’s ongoing activities, development strategies, financial planning, and future goals. The democratic election of the new executive board further reinforced the cooperative spirit within the organization.
Concluding his address, Minister Chowdhury extended his best wishes for the success of the association’s welfare-oriented initiatives. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the fair price shop network, ensuring that it continues to serve the people of Tripura effectively and equitably.
