Agartala, September 9:Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday virtually flagged off vehicles loaded with relief materials worth nearly ₹50 lakh from New Delhi for flood-affected Himachal Pradesh.
The initiative came days after the Tripura government contributed ₹5 crore from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support the hill state’s recovery efforts.
Speaking at the programme held at the BJP state headquarters in Agartala, Saha recalled the devastating floods Tripura endured last year, stressing that the state deeply understands the pain and suffering of the people of Himachal Pradesh.
“From the government’s side, we have contributed ₹5 crore to Himachal’s CM Relief Fund. Alongside, the party too must come forward to extend help. Guided by the principle of Seva Hi Dharm, Seva Hi Sangathan, we are sending relief materials worth around ₹45–50 lakh, including blankets and medicines,” he said.
The Chief Minister noted that BJP state president and MP Rajib Bhattacharjee is in New Delhi to oversee the dispatch.
He emphasized that this gesture reflects the spirit of solidarity that India stands for, recalling how people across the country had extended support when Tripura faced its own crisis last year.
Saha further underlined that both the state government and the party remain committed to working under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president JP Nadda in times of need.
