Agartala, Aug 29:
A Jansuraksha Camp was successfully organized today at Harijoy Chowdhury Gram Panchayat under the TGB Mohanpur (Jirania) Branch in West Tripura district, drawing active participation from local residents.
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Shri Diganta Kr. Das (DGM, NABARD), Shri Satyendra Singh (Chairman, Tripura Gramin Bank), and Shri Samar Kanti Das (Pradhan), along with senior officials from multiple government departments. Their presence added significance to the campaign, which focused on strengthening financial literacy and inclusion at the grassroots level.
During the program, officials highlighted the benefits of flagship government-backed schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Atal Pension Yojana (APY), and the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY). These schemes were explained as essential tools to provide affordable insurance, pension security, and basic banking facilities to rural households.
Speakers also stressed the importance of completing Re-KYC (Know Your Customer) updates to ensure uninterrupted access to financial services. To facilitate this, the Business Correspondent (BC) of TGB Mohanpur branch was present at the camp with necessary forms and support, enabling villagers to update their KYC details on the spot.
A special highlight of the event was the handing over of a cheque worth ₹2,00,000 to Shri Krishna Dhan Sharma, the nominee of a PMJJBY beneficiary, underscoring the tangible benefits of social security schemes in times of need.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from villagers, many of whom availed on-the-spot services and engaged with officials to better understand financial inclusion initiatives.
This program is part of the DFS-launched Jansuraksha campaign, which is being conducted across the country from July 1 to September 30, 2025, with the aim of expanding financial coverage and awareness nationwide.
