Agartala, August 12:
Tripura’s Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee joined Members of Parliament from across the country in a grand bike rally carrying the Indian national flag in New Delhi on Tuesday, as part of the nationwide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign ahead of the Independence Day celebrations.
The rally, held from Bharat Mandapam to Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, was organised to pay tribute to the nation’s heroes at the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Bhattacharjee, also the BJP state president of Tripura, said the purpose of the ride was to spread the message of the tricolour’s pride and to inspire patriotism among citizens.
The ‘Tiranga Rally’ is part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, observed from August 9 to 15, which was launched in 2022 under the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ initiative. The campaign urges every citizen to bring the national flag home, hoist it with honour, and uphold its dignity.
The initiative aims to strengthen the emotional connection between the people and the national flag while deepening awareness of its significance in India’s journey of independence.
