Tripura Student Sets International Record by Writing ‘Ram’ 36 Times on a Jackfruit Seed in Two Minutes
Agartala, August 10:
In a remarkable feat of skill and determination, Tarnesha Das, a student of Agartala’s Women’s College and from Salema in Kamalpur sub-division under remote Dhalai district of Tripura has secured a place in the International Book of Records. Her achievement has brought pride not only to Salema but also to the entire district and the state of Tripura.
The record was set when Tarnesha successfully wrote the word ‘Ram’ 36 times on a single jackfruit seed measuring just 2 centimeters in length — all within two minutes.
Officials of the International Book of Records verified her attempt through an online video call before awarding her a certificate and a medal.
Tornisha hails from Kachurchhara Government Para in Salema, and is the daughter of Piyush Kanti Das.
Speaking to the media from her home, she expressed joy over her accomplishment, crediting her family’s encouragement, the guidance of her art teacher Rajib Rudra Pal, and the support of her friends for helping her achieve this milestone.
This is not her first recognition — in 2023, she entered the India Book of Records by creating maps of 21 countries on 21 lentil grains, showcasing her exceptional micro-art skills.
Kamalpur, a small sub-division in Tripura, and Kachurchhara, a modest village within it, have now gained national and international attention thanks to Tarnesha’s perseverance.
Her journey stands as a testament to the belief that with effort, willpower, and determination, no goal is unreachable.
Reflecting on her success, Tarnesha also shared a message for today’s youth, urging them to use mobile phones and the internet for educational and skill-enhancing purposes instead of focusing solely on social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, or Instagram.
“If young people use mobile technology to learn and explore knowledge, it can become a truly valuable tool for our society,” she said.
