Agartala, August 10:Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha celebrated Raksha Bandhan at his official residence in Agartala on Sunday, a day after the scheduled date due to the sudden illness following a crital surgery of Speaker Bishwabandhu Sen two days ago.
The event witnessed a large gathering of women, particularly from the BJP’s women’s wing, Mahila Morcha, who tied Rakhis on the Chief Minister’s wrist, symbolizing the traditional bond of protection and affection.
Expressing gratitude, Saha underscored the festival’s message of brotherhood, love, and mutual respect, linking it to his government’s ongoing efforts to ensure women’s safety across the state.
He called for building a society where women can live without fear and enjoy equal dignity.
The celebration, marked by warmth and camaraderie, highlighted Raksha Bandhan’s enduring cultural significance in Tripura.
