Agartala, Aug 9, 2025 — The Border Security Force (BSF) Frontier Headquarters at Salbagan, Tripura, celebrated the festival of Rakshabandhan with a blend of tradition, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility. In collaboration with the Lions Club of Agartala Green, the event aimed to strengthen the bond between citizens and soldiers while promoting environmental awareness.
The day’s programme began with a plantation drive at the Frontier HQ, where BSF personnel, members of the Lions Club, and local students planted saplings, reaffirming their commitment to a greener and healthier environment. The symbolic act reflected the BSF’s dedication to not only safeguarding the nation’s borders but also preserving its natural heritage.
As part of the celebrations, students along with their teachers from various schools visited different BSF Border Outposts (BOPs). In a touching display of respect and gratitude, the students tied colourful rakhis on the wrists of the jawans, symbolising the protective bond between civilians and the armed forces. The soldiers, in turn, pledged to continue guarding the nation with unwavering dedication.
In addition to the Rakshabandhan festivities, BSF personnel participated in a blood donation camp organised by the Employees Recreation Club at the District Magistrate’s Office in Belonia. The voluntary blood donation by BSF soldiers underscored their commitment to serving the community in every possible way, extending their protective role from the border to humanitarian causes.
Speaking on the occasion, senior BSF officials expressed their appreciation for the collaboration with the Lions Club and the enthusiastic participation of local students. They emphasised that such events foster unity, mutual respect, and a sense of shared responsibility between the armed forces and the public.
The celebration concluded with the hope that these acts of kindness, environmental care, and mutual respect will inspire similar initiatives in the future.
