Agartala, August 3: With a firm resolve to fight against drug abuse, an awareness bike rally was organized today at Surjyamaninagar, near Agartala. The rally was led by Shri Ramprasad Pal, respected MLA and Deputy Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, whose direct participation added strength and inspiration to the campaign.
The event was an initiative of the Government Employees’ Family Association, a body comprising serving and retired employees. A large number of government staff and local residents joined the rally, sending out a strong message in support of a drug-free Tripura. Participants emphasized that such programs help create a positive atmosphere and spread awareness among people, especially the youth.
Before the rally began, Ramprasad Pal addressed the gathering briefly. “Drug addiction is not just a personal problem; it destroys the social fabric,” he said. “If we want to protect our young generation, we must all come together, cutting across political lines, to resist this menace.”
The bike rally moved through several parts of Surjyamaninagar, distributing messages and interacting with passersby to spread awareness about the dangers of drug use.
Local residents expressed their appreciation for this initiative. Many said that when public representatives themselves step forward, such actions inspire the younger generation to choose the right path.
The program highlighted a key message—that fighting drug abuse requires not only government action but also active participation from every section of society. Today’s rally from Surjyamaninagar stands as an important step in that collective effort.
This movement, led by public servants and supported by the community, showcased how united action can begin to build a healthier, drug-free future for Tripura.
