Agartala, June 27: Shri Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, IPS, Additional Director General (ADG) of the Border Security Force (BSF), Eastern Command, Kolkata, concluded a four-day visit to Tripura, aimed at assessing border security and operational readiness.
Accompanied by Shri Ashwani Kumar Sharma, Inspector General (IG) of BSF Tripura Frontier, the ADG visited several Border Out Posts (BOPs) across the districts of West Tripura, Sepahijala, South Tripura, Gomati, and Dhalai. During his field tour, the ADG interacted with BSF jawans and field commanders, reviewed the current security scenario, and assessed the operational preparedness of the troops.
On June 27, ADG Aggarwal addressed a Sainik Sammelan at the BSF Salbagan headquarters in Agartala. In his address, he praised the unwavering commitment and discipline of BSF personnel in safeguarding the India-Bangladesh international border in Tripura. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining good health, physical fitness, and discipline in ensuring mission readiness and effective border management.
As part of his official engagements, the ADG called on key state dignitaries, including the Hon’ble Governor of Tripura, Shri Indrasena Reddy Nallu, and the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha. He also held courtesy meetings with Chief Secretary Shri J.K. Sinha, IAS, and Director General of Police (DGP) Shri Anurag, IPS, to discuss various operational and administrative issues related to border security.
The visit reaffirmed the BSF’s commitment to maintaining robust border surveillance and coordination with state agencies to ensure peace and security in the region.
