Sabroom, June 9 — An incident of vandalism occurred on June 5 at the BJP party office in Kalachhara Bazaar, under the Satichand block of Tripura’s Sabroom subdivision. Following the incident, a formal complaint was filed at the Manu Bazar police station on June 7.
The complaint names two individuals — Hari Tripura, Vice-President of the BJP’s 39-Manu Mandal, and Arjun Das — accusing them of being involved in the act of vandalism. The written complaint has prompted police to begin an official investigation into the matter.
On Sunday, officers from Manu Bazar police station visited the site of the incident to assess the damage and gather preliminary information. Authorities are currently verifying the authenticity of the allegations and attempting to determine the motive behind the vandalism.
Police sources stated that all necessary legal steps will be taken once the investigation is complete. “We are thoroughly examining the complaint and all related evidence. Appropriate action will follow based on the findings,” said a police official involved in the inquiry.
The incident has sparked strong reactions in local political circles, with widespread condemnation from party workers and the general public. Community members have voiced their concern over rising political tensions and are calling for swift justice.
Residents have urged law enforcement to conduct a fair and impartial investigation to ensure accountability and prevent further disturbances in the politically sensitive region.
The situation remains under close watch as authorities work to resolve the matter. Meanwhile, political observers caution that such incidents, if left unaddressed, could contribute to unrest and deepen existing divisions in the area.
