Agartala: June 04: In a significant development aimed at boosting Tripura’s socio-economic growth, Dr. Acharya Balkrishna, Secretary General of Patanjali Yogpeeth, along with key team members, held detailed discussions with Hon’ble Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha. The meeting focused on exploring multiple areas of collaboration between the Patanjali Group and the Government of Tripura.
Patanjali Group has expressed strong interest in partnering with the state to drive development across diverse sectors. These include promotion of Yoga and spiritual tourism, establishment of wellness centres, development of a biodiversity park and a Fossil Museum, and setting up model schools. The group also plans to support skill training initiatives, especially for tribal and rural artisans, and promote digital agriculture, information technology, and renewable energy projects in the state.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha welcomed the initiative and emphasized the state’s commitment to inclusive development. He noted that collaboration with Patanjali Group, known for its expertise in traditional knowledge, wellness, and rural empowerment, aligns with Tripura’s vision for holistic growth.
“Tripura has immense untapped potential across wellness tourism, biodiversity, and skilled human resources. A partnership with Patanjali will help us harness this potential while preserving our rich cultural and natural heritage,” said Dr. Saha.
To formalize this collaboration, the Tripura Government is set to sign a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Patanjali Group. The MoU will outline cooperation in key areas, with a focus on sustainable and community-driven development.
This partnership is expected to bring transformative changes by creating employment opportunities, enhancing infrastructure, and empowering local communities—particularly in rural and tribal regions—while promoting Tripura as a hub for wellness and eco-tourism.
