Agartala, May 31: In a major breakthrough, Bodhjungnagar police have recovered eight stolen motorcycles, a water pump, electrical wires, and various temple items during an ongoing theft investigation. One person, identified as Santu Das, has been arrested in connection with the case.
According to Dr. Kiran Kumar, Superintendent of Police (West District), the investigation began following a motorcycle theft complaint. During the probe, police traced several stolen items to the residence of Ratan Das, where they recovered eight motorcycles along with other valuables. Ratan Das, also involved in the crime, is currently absconding.
The recovery was made possible following the interrogation of Santu Das, who reportedly revealed crucial information leading to the discovery of the stolen goods.
Dr. Kumar stated that the total estimated value of the recovered items stands at around ₹7 lakh. Efforts are underway to apprehend Ratan Das, and further investigation is ongoing to determine if more individuals are involved in the theft ring.
Police have also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity, assuring that strict action will be taken against those involved in theft or handling stolen property.
