Agartala: May 22: Former BJP MP from West Bengal, Dilip Ghosh, is currently on a three-day visit to Tripura. As part of his spiritual and political outreach, Ghosh arrived in Agartala on Thursday and began his visit by seeking blessings from revered spiritual leader Shanti Kali Maharaj.
Shortly after landing at the Agartala Airport, Ghosh headed directly to meet Shanti Kali Maharaj, showing reverence to local spiritual traditions. His visit reflects a blend of religious faith and outreach to connect with the people and the culture of Tripura.
On the following day, Friday, Dilip Ghosh visited the famous Tripura Sundari Temple, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas and a major pilgrimage site in the state. Accompanied by members of the Swastik family, he offered prayers to Goddess Tripura Sundari, seeking divine blessings. The visit to the temple holds special significance as it not only showcases his personal devotion but also aligns with the BJP’s focus on cultural and spiritual nationalism.
Ghosh’s visit to Tripura is being closely watched by political observers, as it comes at a time when the BJP is looking to further strengthen its base in the northeastern region. His interactions with local leaders, party workers, and members of the public are expected to boost the party’s grassroots presence.
Though primarily spiritual in nature, Ghosh’s visit also includes political engagements, signaling the BJP’s ongoing efforts to maintain momentum and visibility ahead of future elections. His respectful visits to both religious and cultural sites underscore the party’s strategy of blending faith, tradition, and political outreach in the region.
The trip is expected to conclude with more meetings and temple visits, reinforcing both personal devotion and political symbolism.
