Agartala, May 19: Tripura Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath, along with senior officials, participated in a virtual meeting with Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday to discuss the nationwide rollout of the ‘Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan’. The initiative, announced during the meeting, aims to empower farmers with advanced agricultural technologies and seed-related knowledge.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan officially declared that the ‘Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan’ will be launched across the country from **May 29 to June 12, 2025**. The campaign is part of a larger vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to build a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) by transforming Indian agriculture into a modern and sustainable sector.
Speaking after the meeting, Minister Ratan Lal Nath highlighted the significance of the campaign in improving the lives of farmers through scientific and research-based farming practices. He stated that the initiative focuses on three key areas—agricultural modernization, promotion of research, and enhancement of farmers’ practical skills.
Under this campaign, farmers will be trained in the use of new technologies, quality seeds, and sustainable farming methods. District-level teams will conduct **three meetings daily** to ensure widespread outreach and engagement. These meetings will serve as knowledge-sharing platforms for farmers to interact with experts and receive on-ground training.
Minister Nath emphasized that the initiative aligns with the central government’s commitment to make farming a profitable and dignified profession. “Prosperous farmers are the foundation of a developed nation,” he added.
The ‘Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan’ is expected to play a crucial role in increasing agricultural productivity, promoting innovation, and strengthening the rural economy. Tripura will actively participate in this campaign to ensure its benefits reach grassroots-level farmers across the state.
