Agartala, May 9: Amidst rising tensions between India and Pakistan following the brutal killing of 26 tourists in Pahalgam by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists and the cross border retaliatory strikes of the Indian Armed Forces targeting Pakistan sponsored militant camps under the ‘Operation Sindoor’, the Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) on Friday organized the ‘Jai Hind Yatra’ in Agartala as part of the Congress party’s nationwide campaign to express unwavering support for the Indian armed forces.
The rally, held across major parts of the capital city, witnessed a large turnout of Congress leaders, workers, and supporters marching with the national flag, raising spirited slogans like “Hindustan Zindabad” and displaying tricolour banners in a show of patriotism and unity.
The ‘Jai Hind Yatra’ is part of a broader national campaign initiated by the Indian National Congress to foster unity and public support for India’s defence forces.
It also seeks to rally citizens behind the government and military in the wake of cross-border retaliatory strikes carried out by Indian forces in response to the Pahalgam terror attack.
TPCC leaders lauded the bravery of the armed forces and called for national solidarity during this critical time, as political parties across the spectrum continue to express support for India’s military actions against terror threats.
The yatra in Tripura mirrors similar rallies held nationwide, aiming to strengthen public morale and national resolve against terrorism.
