Agartala, May 8:
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Thursday asserted that India would decisively end any further provocations by Pakistan, crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for ensuring national security.
Speaking at an event in Agartala to mark World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day 2025, Saha said, “A war-like situation has already begun. Pakistan has long engaged in proxy warfare against India, but this time, the Prime Minister, India has given a befitting response. If Pakistan tries to escalate matters further, I assure you, it will be finished.”
Earlier he also expressed unwavering support for the Indian armed forces and praised ‘Operation Sindoor’ — a recent military strike on terrorist camps across the border — as a well-executed mission targeting threats in Pakistan.
Highlighting the contributions of the Indian Red Cross Society, Saha — who also holds the Home and Health portfolios — urged collective support for the organization’s humanitarian work.
“The Red Cross has always been at the forefront in providing vital services — from blood donation drives to disaster relief, fighting drug abuse, and helping those in distress,” he noted.
The Tripura branch of the Red Cross organised a two-day observance to mark the occasion, during which the Chief Minister virtually inaugurated voluntary blood donation camps across seven districts.
