On 28th April 2025, Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers hosted the *Swarnagram Shikshalaya Nabobarsha Celebration*—a vibrant cultural event dedicated to celebrating Tripura’s heritage and advancing the Swarnagram initiative at Warengbari in Gomati district.
‘Swarnagram’ is Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers’ model village project, focused on holistic rural development. A key extension of this vision is the *Swarnagram Shikshalaya*—a residential school run in collaboration with Glory Academy, Warengbari. This initiative aims to provide students with better infrastructure, nutrition, study materials, trained educators, sports instructors, and scholarships for meritorious children.
The celebration began with a soulful welcome song by Reang tribal children, setting the tone for a meaningful day. Highlights included poetry recitations and a yoga demonstration by Swarnagram Shikshalaya students. The event culminated with a lively performance of the traditional Hozagiri dance by the village youth.
Guests of honour included Dr. Jayanta Ghosh and Directors of Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers, Rishiroop and Rupak Saha. Dr. Ghosh, a distinguished educationist, will serve as a mentor for the students, as announced by Mr. Saha. Reflecting on the journey, Dr. Ghosh remarked, “Swarnagram started as a dream sixteen years ago.”
Rupak Saha shared, “This Nabobarsha celebration brings joy and strengthens our bond with the community. Swarnagram has grown through government support, spiritual organisations like Ramakrishna Mission and Bharat Sevashram, our associates, and the people of Warengbari.” He emphasized that *Swarnagram Shikshalaya*, launched a few years ago, is now central to the project’s future.
He concluded on a hopeful note: “Much remains to be done—but together, we can make it happen.”
The day ended on a sweet note, marking a successful celebration of culture, community, and commitment to progress.
