Agartala, April 27: In a major push towards employment generation, the Tripura government on Sunday distributed 479 appointment letters for various posts during an official ceremony held at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, while addressing the gathering, emphasized his government’s unwavering commitment to transparency in recruitment. He stated that the recruitment process in the state is in alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a merit-based and transparent hiring system.
Dr. Saha shared that since the financial year 2018-19, the present state government has successfully provided 16,942 government jobs, marking a significant milestone in employment. Specifically in 2025 alone, 3,296 jobs have been distributed, which includes 2,437 Group-D posts filled through the Joint Recruitment Board of Tripura (JRBT).
Additionally, he highlighted the recruitment of 5,771 individuals under contractual and outsourced categories since 2018-19. The Chief Minister underlined that Tripura’s unemployment rate has seen a notable decline, even as the opposition continues to criticize the government in a bid to mislead the public.
On this occasion, appointment letters were distributed for:
• 126 posts of CDPO and ICDS Supervisors under the Department of Social Welfare & Social Education
• 197 posts of Junior Engineers in the Public Works Department (PWD)
• 156 posts in the Tripura State Co-operative Bank Ltd, including Assistant Managers, Cash-cum-General Clerks, and Multi-Tasking Staff
Dr. Saha congratulated all newly appointed employees, urging them to serve with dedication and contribute to public welfare.
The event was also graced by Social Welfare Minister Tinku Roy, Cooperation Minister Shukla Charan Noatia, Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, and other senior officials.
