Agartala: April 25: A delegation from the Youth Congress recently met with state authorities to present a set of demands aimed at addressing concerns over employment and recruitment processes. The delegation, led by Youth Congress President Neelkamal Saha, sought employment opportunities for the unemployed and the cancellation of oral exams for Group C and D recruitment.
In the absence of the Chief Secretary, the Transport Secretary, T.K. Debnath, received the delegation and their proposals. Saha highlighted the growing frustration among educated unemployed youth due to delays in recruitment processes by central agencies and state public service commissions. He emphasized the challenges faced by thousands of graduates from various institutions, including engineering colleges and universities specializing in agriculture, fisheries, and other fields.
To address these issues, Saha proposed that the Tripura Public Service Commission adopt a system of annual exams to fill vacant positions, similar to practices in other states like Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, and Rajasthan. He argued that such measures could streamline recruitment, reduce stress for candidates, and provide clarity about their future prospects. The Youth Congress reiterated its call for the cancellation of oral exams for Group C and D recruitment as part of their demands.
