Agartala, April 22: A fatal road accident in the Joyguru area of Agartala on Tuesday afternoon claimed the life of a Class 12 student, Dipankar Ghosh, after his scooter collided with a goods vehicle.
Dipankar, a resident of Indranagar, died on the spot.
The deceased who had lost his father earlier use to run a small tiffin stall in front of their home alongwith his mother for livelihood.
Dipankar was reportedly heading to the market to buy some items for his cousin’s upcoming wedding ceremony when the vehicle hit him and fled the scene.
Fire service personnel rushed to the spot and took the blood-soaked body to GBP Hospital.
The incident has sparked outrage among locals, demanding swift action against the absconding driver.
