Agartala, April 20: A shocking incident has rocked the Simna area in West Tripura district as two individuals—a married woman and a young man— on Sunday were found hanging next to the other with a piece of cloth and by hanging from the same branch of a tree, indicating a case of suicide over some secret love affair. However, family members of the deceased lady deny any information about secret affair.
The tragic incident occurred near Abhiram Tilla, adjacent to Krishnapur Tea Garden, where Gayatri Munda, a housewife, and Saju Santal, a youth from the tribal area near Sundar Tilla School, were found hanging by passersby.
The sight caused an immediate uproar, and the news quickly spread throughout the area.
Gayatri Munda’s husband, Gopesh Munda, stated that they had been married for three years and have a young daughter.
He claimed that there were no disputes in their family and expressed confusion over his wife’s sudden death. Gopesh also denied knowing the young man found hanging alongside his wife.
Later personnel from Sundar Tilla police outpost and Sidhai Police Station rushed to the scene.
The case has left the community in shock, with questions still swirling around the circumstances of their deaths.
