Agartala: April 01: During the seventh day of the budget session in the Legislative Assembly, Health Minister and Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha addressed a query from MLA Ashok Chandra Mitra regarding the recruitment of medical personnel. Dr. Saha announced plans to recruit doctors and nurses under the Health and Family Welfare Department for the financial year 2025-26, with the recruitment process overseen by the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC).
The Health Minister highlighted ongoing efforts to fill 13 positions for Medical Officer (Ayurveda) in TAS Grade-IV and six vacancies for Medical Officer (Dental) in TDS Grade-IV. Additionally, administrative measures are underway to address 332 vacant posts for Nursing Officers in the state’s Health Department. The department has also initiated steps to create and fill 100 new vacancies.
Dr. Saha expressed optimism that these recruitment efforts would be completed within the financial year 2025-26, aiming to enhance healthcare services and address staffing shortages in the medical sector.
