Agartala: April 01: On the final day of the Legislative Assembly’s budget session, CPI(M) legislators from the opposition bench were notably absent, continuing their boycott of the session. The boycott was initiated in response to dissatisfaction with the Speaker’s role during the week-long budget session.
According to the opposition, the Speaker did not address their complaints and statements, prompting their decision to abstain from participating in the session. CPI(M) legislators alleged political bias on the part of the Speaker, which they cited as the reason for their absence.
The ruling party criticized the opposition’s decision to boycott the session, expressing disapproval of their actions. The absence of CPI(M) legislators on the concluding day marked the continuation of tensions between the opposition and the Speaker throughout the budget session.
