Agartala, March 31: A man who had been reported missing a day earlier was found hanging from a tree in a forest area in southern Tripura on Monday morning, police said.
The incident took place under the Bagma police station in Udaipur, Gomati district. The deceased has been identified as Sefal Som, a resident of Samatal Bagmara.
Discovery of the Body
According to Ajit Das, ASI of police, who arrived at the scene of the crime, Sefal had left his home on Sunday after an argument with his family. When he did not return, his wife and son searched for him but were unable to find him.
On Monday morning, a neighbor discovered his body hanging from a tree in the Garjangagan forest area of Bagma and alerted the police.
Police Investigation Underway
Authorities have registered a case of unnatural death and initiated an investigation to determine the exact circumstances leading to his demise. Further forensic examination and statements from family members will be part of the inquiry, police said.
