Agartala, March 28: A man accused of kidnapping a minor girl from Unakoti district of Tripura, has been arrested from Bengaluru and will be produced before the court in Kailashahar, a police official confirmed on Friday.
SI Ripika Bhattacharjee of Kailashahar Women Police Station, who led the investigation, stated that the case was registered in November last year under the POCSO Act and kidnapping charges (Case No. 62/24) after a complaint was lodged. During the probe, it was discovered that the accused had fled the state.
Acting on leads, a police team from Kailashahar traced and arrested the accused, Rubel Ali, in Bengaluru on March 24. He was subsequently brought back to Tripura and will be presented in court today, police officials said.
