Agartala: Mar 28: In a shocking incident in Udaipur’s Gokulpur area, a 12-year-old student, Dipanta Debnath, was seriously injured after a bomb exploded while he was searching for a cricket ball in a nearby jungle. The incident occurred this morning when a group of children were playing cricket, and the ball rolled into the jungle. Dipanta, a seventh-grade student, ventured into the area to retrieve the ball, but as he approached a suspicious round object, it suddenly detonated.
The explosion caused panic among the other children, who immediately began shouting for help. Local residents, along with family members, rushed to the scene of the blast. Dipanta’s father, Biplab Debnath, was quickly informed and hurried to the location. Without delay, he took his son to the Gomati District Hospital for treatment. Doctors admitted Dipanta to the hospital’s surgical ward due to the severity of his injuries.
Upon hearing the news of the explosion, officers from the Radha Kishorepur Police Station arrived at the site to investigate the incident. They have yet to determine the exact origin of the bomb or how it ended up in the jungle. Authorities have assured that a thorough investigation is underway to prevent any future such incidents, especially in areas where children play.
