Agartala: Mar 25: On Tuesday, an incident in Ramnagar ADC Village under Bishramganj Police Station drew significant attention and comparisons to a previous event at Agartala Tata Kali Bari. Shambhu Tripura, a jail police officer employed at Bishalgarh Central Correctional Facility, was confronted by his wife and in-laws in a public setting, leading to a dramatic sequence of events.
Shambhu Tripura was accused of developing an illicit relationship with a married woman from Rangmala ADC Village and of physically and mentally abusing his wife. On Tuesday morning, his wife and her family confronted him in Rangmala ADC Village, catching him in a compromising situation with the woman. The confrontation escalated, with Shambhu’s wife and her family dragging him by his hair, beating him with a shoe, and handing him over to the police.
The crowd, including Shambhu’s second wife, also assaulted the married woman involved, dragging her by her hair and beating her, causing her to fall to the ground. Bishramganj Police intervened, rescuing both the accused officer and the woman from the agitated crowd and bringing them to the police station.
The incident has caused unrest in the area, highlighting tensions and raising concerns about public safety and accountability.
