Agartala: Mar 24: In the Tripura Legislative Assembly, Minister of Employment Services and Manpower Planning Tinku Roy shared details about the state’s unemployment statistics in response to a non-starred question raised by MLAs Ranjit Debbarma and Sudip Sarkar. He revealed that there are 336,551 registered job seekers in the state, as per data from the National Career Service Portal. Among these, 82,136 individuals belong to Scheduled Tribes (ST).
The Minister highlighted the educational qualifications of the unemployed population, which include 245 PhD holders, 18,905 postgraduate degree holders, and 1,006 doctorate degree holders. This underscores the growing demand for skilled employment opportunities in the state.
Additionally, the report addressed the issue of over-aged unemployed job seekers, noting that 2,383 individuals have exceeded the age limit for government jobs. The Minister emphasized the need for effective measures to address these challenges and create more employment opportunities.
