Agartala: Mar 18: A group of consumers from various districts of Tripura staged a protest at the Tripura Urban Development Authority (TUDA) office in Agartala today, demanding the immediate delivery of their promised Lighthouse flats situated at Agartala Border Golchakkar. The protestors, who had paid for the flats in installments as far back as 2022, expressed their frustration over the prolonged delay in receiving their housing.
The protestors alleged that they were assured that the flats would be ready for possession by 2022, but despite having made payments in two to three installments, they have not yet been provided with their homes. This unmet promise has caused considerable distress among the consumers, who feel misled and abandoned by the authorities.
As part of their protest, the consumers called for either a full refund of the money they had paid for the flats or immediate steps to be taken to ensure the delivery of their homes. The group met with the state’s Joint Secretary to voice their concerns, humbly appealing to the Chief Minister for swift intervention. They expressed hope that the state government would take effective measures to resolve the matter in a timely and satisfactory manner.
The protestors conveyed their deep frustration over the lack of action and communication from TUDA, and their growing concerns about the financial and emotional toll the delays have taken. While their anger was palpable, they also remained hopeful that the Chief Minister would take the necessary steps to address their grievances and ensure that justice is served. The issue continues to attract public attention, and many are awaiting a resolution to this long-standing problem.
